Kick-starting the game straight into Longboats with a great econo. I guess mixed maps not being very popular would be the reason for the lack of discussions. A Fast Castle Longboats Build Order for the Vikings, going Castle at 15 min into Longboats. All the water related build orders I can find are for galley rushing. Surprisingly, I can't find much of a discussion about this. Or perhaps it is better to just ignore the water and do a standard fast castle boom build order, as if it was a land map? Or would it be better to just skip the fast castle, and boom in dark/feudal age, using lots of fishing ships? After all, extra town centers are a lot less impactful when you can create resource gatherers from multiple docks. It obviously depends on the map, and the civ, but as a general rule of thumb, I figure that 4 fishing ships is probably a good number to stop at? It would be risky to go for a lot more, as they would be vulnerable to raiding. Basically you can play this build aggressive or defensive depending whether your opponent is open or fully walled. This one is an FC knights into an all-in (mini-boom) or into a few knights 3 Town center boom.
